Rules for Chaperones and Dancers:
·
Each company must include one chaperon other than the
director for every eight dancers under 18 years of age.
·
Appropriate dress is required for the type of locale and
activity in which the festival is held.
·
Some form of cover up must be worn over leotards by
dancers in hotel lobbies, halls, elevators, and between classes.
·
Chaperones are requested to prevent excessive noise in
rooms or in the halls at night that could disturb other hotel guests.
·
Chaperones are expected to check their company's rooms and
see that their dancers are in bed by a reasonable time following each
evening's activities.
·
When leaving the hotel, dancers should not be alone.
Dancers must inform their chaperones regarding any departure from
regular schedule.
·
Directors are asked to remind their dancers of theater
etiquette.
·
During performances open to the public, do not leave seats
before the last curtain call.
·
No food in theaters.
·
No theater make-up or costumes in public performance
audiences.
·
Dancers must wear their badges to all classes and festival
functions.
·
Dancers should be reminded of the necessity of being on
time.
·
Dancers are expected to attend all classes and activities
planned for them unless personally excused by their director or
chaperone.
·
It is understood that no dancer may drink alcoholic
beverages if he or she is under 21 years of age. There shall be no
alcoholic beverages in ANY dancers' rooms.
·
The use of drugs by any Festival participant will not be
tolerated. Offenders will be prosecuted.
·
Festival Dress Code:
·
Female Dancers
·
Either black leotard or their company’s color. Dancers
must wear the same color on the same day.
·
Footed pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Jazz pants and
shoes may be worn for Jazz or African or Lyrical class.
·
No skirts except for character class.
·
Male Dancers:
·
Fitted white t-shirt or leotard or company color uniform
·
Black tights or company color uniform
·
Black or white shoes
·
White socks
·
No sweatpants or leg warmers.
·
Female and Male Dancers:
·
Hair must be securely pulled back and pinned away from the
face and neck for all classes.
·
No jewelry may be worn
·
Cover-ups must be worn when walking in public areas.
