Lighting and Technical Information

Hi,

My name is Chris Gathe, I am the Technical Director / Lighting Designer for the Long Beach Ballet.  I will be taking care of all of your technical needs while you are visiting us in Long Beach, California.

I am happy to say that this year’s performance will take place in a very nice and well equipped auditorium. The Carpenter Performing Arts Center has a very functional house lighting plot that we will be for the most part be using this year. I have made a few additions and modifications to the lighting plot to help accommodate the number of different dances we will have. I am making available the plot in several formats for your review…

I have also created a PDF labeled “LBB - RDA 2008 - Theater Info.pdf”. In this document you will find the channel / group sheet as well as a drawing of the stage with dimensions.  click here to download

Notes for lighting cues:

Make all lighting cues based off of CD track times. (i.e.,  1:38 - Change cyc to blue )

(please send as excel or word format if possible)

Limit lighting cues to a maximum of 25 for a “performing ballet,” 10 for an “emerging ballet.”

There is one light on each side boom that can be re-gelled for individual dances if required.

(please bring that color if possible (10 - Source 4 Lekos))

There are many lekos for down specials.

(refer to file “LBBT - RDA 2008 - Specials Focus.pdf”)

Please note - If enough designers / choreographers ask for certain color combinations that are not currently on the plot, I will accommodate these requests. So please send notes and feedback for your dances.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
